2020 is off to a good start for actress Meryl Streep. She has recently sold her extravagant penthouse in New York City for $15.8 million. In the neighborhood of Tribeca, the penthouse overlooks the Hudson River with a three-sided wraparound terrace.

In 2018 the apartment went on the market for $24.6 million and then was dropped down to $19.75 million followed by $18.25 million. After struggling to find a buyer, one last drop allowed the luxury home to switch owners.

Even though Streep had to drop the asking price down, she and her husband Don Gummer still come out with a profit. They bought the home together in 2006 for $10.3 million. This leaves them with a $5.5 million dollar payout.

The penthouse is 3,944 square feet with four bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms. The terrace has multiple access points across the home. It is located at the top of the River Lofts building and has a private elevator that brings you right to the door. Full with floor to ceiling windows in the living and dining room, you will also see a fireplace and wide plank flooring. To add flexibility to the layout, there are pocket doors that allow you to segment out your spacing as you wish.

The building comes equipped with 24-hour door attendants, a gym, bike room, and on site garage with direct elevator access. It is in a prime location to Hudson River Park, restaurants, cafes and boutiques.
