Although it may seem like home improvement projects are better suited for the warm weather, there are a few key projects that you can tackle in these cold months. Luckily, there is a lot that can be done indoors that will be highly beneficial for the winter. Here are a few ideas to keep in mind on these cold weekends:

Shower Upgrade

Adjustments in the bathroom are some of the easiest to make. Start with replacing your shower head. This takes little to no time and there is nothing better than a hot shower on a freezing morning. Switching out your shower head for a nice rainfall or mister will instantly upgrade your experience.

Heated Bathroom Floors

So now that you have a nice shower, you have to think about being cold when you step out. This is going to be a much more involved project, but it is worth it. You can install electric heating mats under the tile to have a warm floor to walk on.

Luckily this isn’t as expensive as it sounds. Heated flooring is about $13 to $19 to both buy the materials and install them. You will however need to remove your existing flooring. If you were thinking about retiling, this would be the perfect winter job for you!

Mudroom Makeover

If you are lucky enough to live in a state where there is snow, you know how hard it is to keep your floors clean. Snow means water and slush covered boots and jackets are going to be thrown all over your entry ways. You need to create a space where these items can be stored and kept properly. Add some more rugs to absorb the moisture. A temporary clothing rack is also helpful to organize all the coats.

Tree Trimming

This could seem weird. Yes it may be cold, but luckily there are some days that are warmer than others. The best part of trimming down your trees in the winter is that they tend to be bare. You can see what needs to be cut down without working through leaves and flowers.
