Good Time to Sell a Home

According to a report issued by the National Association of REALTORS® Research Group:

  • In September, 78% of people in the United States of America believe now is a good time to sell a home. This is the highest percentage recorded since the collection started in 2015. This is over a 10-percentage point increase from 63% in Q3 2016.
  • 22% believe that now is not a good time to sell a home.

Those who are in the West (85%) are most likely to think that now is a good time to sell a home, which is also the least likely region to think that now is a good time to buy a home.

Recent Reports issued by the U.S. Census Bureau and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development indicate that new home starts are down compared with last month as well as last year.  New home completion is also showing a downward trend month over month.

If demand for homes stays as is, in most areas of the country, or increases, then this is good news for homeowners selling their homes.
